Rough-In Requirements
Rough-in requirements, clearance specs, electrical and gas requirements, and installation notes for every Bromic product family. Use this page to plan your rough-in before the heaters arrive on site.
This page provides general installation guidance. Always refer to the official Bromic instruction manual for your specific product and model. Gas line work must be performed by a licensed gas contractor. Electrical work must comply with local codes.
Tungsten Smart-Heat® Electric
RRough-In Requirements
Electrical
220-240V dedicated circuit (208V available). 2000W: 10A; 3000W: 15A; 4000W: 20A; 6000W: 30A. Hardwired. No plug connection.
Conduit / Wiring
Conduit entry from rear or side. Confirm entry point before rough-in. Provide junction box within 12" of mounting point.
Mounting
Ceiling mount: 8" minimum clearance above unit to structure. Wall mount: bracket supplied. Recess kit available for flush ceiling install.
Minimum Clearances
NInstallation Notes
IPX4 rated. Suitable for covered outdoor areas. Not rated for direct rain exposure.
4000W and 6000W models have dual heating elements that can be controlled independently.
Recess kit requires minimum 5" ceiling depth. Confirm before specifying flush mount.
Dimmer controller requires compatible wiring. Confirm before rough-in if dimming is specified.

RRough-In Requirements
Gas Supply
Natural gas or LPG. Minimum supply pressure: 7" WC (natural gas) / 11" WC (LPG). Maximum inlet pressure: 14" WC. 1/2" NPT gas connection.
Electrical
110V / 2A for ignition and controls. Standard outlet or hardwired junction box within 6 ft of unit.
Mounting
Wall or ceiling mount via pivot bracket. Ceiling post mount available. Gas supply line must reach mounting point. Confirm before rough-in.
Minimum Clearances
NInstallation Notes
Wind resistant to 8 mph. For more exposed installations, consider Platinum Gas (12 mph rated).
Direct ignition. No pilot light. Requires 110V electrical connection for ignition.
Pivot bracket allows 25° tilt in each direction. Confirm desired aim angle before mounting.
Gas line must be installed by a licensed gas contractor. PHD can coordinate.
Heat deflector accessory available for installations where downward heat deflection is needed.

Conduit / Wiring
Conduit entry from rear. Provide junction box within 12" of mounting point. Confirm entry orientation before ceiling rough-in.
Mounting
Ceiling or wall mount. Standard recess kit requires 5" ceiling depth. Low-clearance recess kit available for shallower ceilings (confirm depth). Pole mount available.
Minimum Clearances

IPX4 rated. 304 stainless steel construction. Schott ceramic-glass fascia.
Low-clearance recess kit available for ceilings under 5" depth. Specify at order.
Adjustable mounting brackets allow tilt angle adjustment after installation.
Compatible with Affinity Dimmer Controller. Confirm wiring before rough-in.
Available in black or white. Specify finish at order. Finish cannot be changed after installation.

RRough-In Requirements
Electrical
208V or 240V dedicated circuit. 2900W: 15A (240V) / 16A (208V). Hardwired. Conduit entry from top of pole or ceiling canopy.
Mounting
Six mounting configurations: 24" twin pole (standard), wall mount pole, 8" / 24" / 48" straight poles, curved pole. Confirm pole selection before rough-in. Conduit routing differs by configuration.
Lighting Circuit
LED circuit is integrated. No separate lighting circuit required. Affinity Eclipse Controller required for dimming functionality.
Minimum Clearances
NInstallation Notes
Pendant design. Confirm ceiling height and desired hanging height before specifying pole length.
Affinity Eclipse Controller required for LED dimming. Standard On/Off controller does not dim LEDs.
Available in matte black only.
Freestanding version available. No rough-in required. Requires 220-240V outlet within reach.
LED color: warm white 3000K, 497 lm dimmable.

Notes
Controls up to 6 heaters per zone. Expansion board required for more than 6 units.

240V dimmer wiring. Requires neutral wire. Not compatible with gas heaters.
Notes
Dims heat output proportionally. Confirm heater model supports dimming before specifying.
Affinity Eclipse Controller

Dedicated Eclipse wiring harness. Controls both heat and LED dimming independently.
Notes
Required for LED dimming on Eclipse models. Standard On/Off controller does not dim LEDs.
Manual Wall Switch

Compatible With
Wiring
Standard single-pole switch wiring. No neutral required.
Notes
On/Off only. No dimming. Simplest control option for single-zone installs.
Affinity Expansion Board

Compatible With
Wiring
Wired in series with Affinity controller. Extends zone capacity by 6 additional heaters.
Notes
Required when a single zone exceeds 6 heaters. Multiple boards can be daisy-chained.
Before You Rough In
Pre-Installation Checklist
Confirm product model and wattage/BTU with PHD before rough-in
Verify ceiling height meets minimum floor clearance requirements
Confirm mounting point location and structure availability
Determine control type (On/Off vs. Dimmer vs. Eclipse) before wiring
For gas: confirm fuel type (NG vs. LPG) and supply pressure
For recess kits: measure ceiling depth before specifying flush mount
For Eclipse: confirm pole length based on desired hanging height
Confirm color/finish at order. Cannot be changed after installation
For multi-zone installs: confirm expansion board requirement
Coordinate delivery timing with PHD before rough-in is complete
